№ 01 Our Promise

Quality hay. Honest service.

At Say Hay Ray, we produce premium custom alfalfa hay right here in West Texas. Whether you're feeding horses, cattle, goats, or anything else with an appetite, we take pride in delivering hay that meets your specific needs.

Every bale is grown and harvested with care on our fields in Saragosa, Texas. We believe in doing things right — from seed to bale, and everything in between.

Good hay starts long before the baler rolls. It's soil that's been looked after, fields that are watered right, and a farmer who knows when to cut and when to wait. We've been doing this long enough to tell the difference — and you'll be able to tell too, the first time you open a bale.

№ 02 Our Hay

Premium alfalfa, cut at the right time.

We grow alfalfa because it's what the animals want — leafy, fine-stemmed, and high in protein when it's handled right. Our hay gets cut on a schedule set by the weather and the plant, not the calendar. When the crop's ready, we don't waste a day getting it into the bale.

We put up multiple cuttings through the season, so there's usually something good on hand. Most of what we sell goes out in mid-sized square bales — easy to handle, easy to stack, and sized right for most feed rooms. Need something specific? Call and ask. If we've got it, we'll set it aside for you. If we don't, we'll tell you when we might.

Whether you're feeding show horses, a working string, a herd of cattle, or a handful of backyard goats, we can put you up a load of hay that fits the job. Forage testing is available on request.

№ 03 Our Story

From Kansas wheat country to the wide open West Texas plains.

Say Hay Ray began in the mid-1980s in Central Kansas, where Ray Hiebert first learned the art of hay production. In the early 2000s, we made the move to Saragosa, Texas, drawn by the ideal growing conditions of West Texas.

Since relocating, we've focused on developing our hay fields and perfecting our production. With decades of experience behind every bale, you can trust that you're getting hay from someone who knows the business inside and out.

Saragosa sits high and dry, with long sunny days and cool nights — the kind of weather alfalfa loves. Between the water, the soil, and the sky, there's a reason this country has been known for good hay for a long time. We've just kept our heads down and done the work, one cutting at a time.
